Cornilleau History

Founded in 1946 by Emile Cornilleau , with its headquarters and manufacturing plant in Northern France, Cornilleau started in the carpentry business before expanding towards the table tennis business in 1969.

In 2003, Cornilleau became the largest European table tennis equipment manufacturer and a leading seller of premium quality table tennis products worldwide. Over the years, Cornilleau has developed an international reputation across an expanding product line ranging from recreational tables, rackets, balls and accessories to ITTF competition tables. Cornilleau distributes its products to over 3,000 retailers in more than 45 countries today.

For the past 20 years, the Cornilleau brand has sponsored many prestigious international and national table tennis events. In 2007 , Cornilleau is the Official Sponsor of the World Team Cup in Magdeburg (Germany) .

Our Original Profession: Cabinetry and furniture making:

Diversification into table tennis tables:
The move into manufacturing table tennis tables begins. Emile is joined by his son Pierre they decide to move from small-scale production to an industrial vision their objective is to reduce costs, develop innovation and reach high volumes.


Leader in the French market:
Cornilleau constantly improve the quality of their products and earn a place as number one in France due to their excellent value for money. The tables are increasingly available through specialized retailers


Cornilleau in competition:
All tables are signed by the French champion Jacques Secretin. A range of competition tables is launched. The Cornilleau brand takes off.

Jean-Philippe Gatien, World Champion:
A sponsoring contract is signed with Jean Philippe Gatien, silver-medal winner at the Barcelona Olympics who goes on the become World Champion two months later


The compact table: a major innovation:
Development of an entirely revolutionary table incorporating the “compact Technology” process, involving ergonomics, security and design

 

Cornilleau in bats and balls:
Cornilleau strengthen their position as a specialist by launching a full range of bats balls and accessories for leisure play in association with the champions Jean Philippe Gatien.

 

2nd -Generation of compact tables:
A complete revamp of the table range: extra safety with the DSI locking mechanism and introduction of a highly innovative design. The 440 table nominated for the competition organized by L'Observeur du design.

 

Leader in the European market:
Based on the success of its concept of a “compact technology” table, and active in more than 35 countries through the world, Cornilleau becomes the European leader in table tennis tables

Cornilleau joins forces with Michelin to create “tacteo”, a revolutionary bat for leisure play made of 100% polymers and elastomers

Building on their strong position as the leader in the European market, Cornilleau continue their growth worldwide by increasing their development in the United States, Russia, and the Middle East
